Patagonia, a California-based outdoors clothing and sporting accessories company whose goods are available in stores in a number of Minnesota cities (and with a company-owned retail store in St. Paul), supports small, grassroots activist environmental organizations nationally and internationally. The company's grants particularly seek to help local groups working to protect local habitat. Patagonia is most interested in organizations that identify and work on the root causes of problems and that approach issues with a commitment to long-term change.
Most grants are in the range of $3,000 to $8,000. Proposals are welcome during the months of April or August each year if being submitted to the Patagonia grants manager in California, or throughout the year if being submitted to a local Patagonia retail outlet (such as the one in St. Paul).
