- Wheeling Township and Nerstrand -- Landmark of the Past Symbol of the Future
A group of local residents mobilized to purchase and preserve a plot of land near a state forest. By mobilizing citizens and other interested parties, the group purchased the land and restored part of it to its natural state of prairie and oak savannah. The 110-acre plot will be preserved as open space for future generations to enjoy due to the efforts of these citizens. more
