Whether you are completely new to the idea of sustainability or already living green, this interactive beginner's workshop will give you a fresh and inspiring perspective.

Through slideshow presentations, hands-on projects, small group work, and lively conversation, you will:

- learn what permaculture is
- explore the principles of permaculture and how they relate to one another
- see examples of permaculture in action
- plant a part of an edible forest garden or do another similar hands-on activity
- discover more resources for continuing your journey

TEACHERS - Reed Aubin and Krista Leraas

Reed Aubin loves life, especially a permaculture-infused life. He is a member of the Permaculture Research Institute Cold Climate Teachers Guild, and teaches permaculture ethics, among other subjects, at El Colegio High School in South Minneapolis.

Krista Leraas is a long-time member of PRI Cold Climate who was (and continues to be) highly involved in PRI's Backyard Harvest (now Harvest Moon Backyard Farmers.) She is a member of the Permaculture Research Institute Cold Climate Teachers Guild who also teaches classes like Rotational and Succession Planting for Small-Spaces and Long-Term Production and Personal Permaculture.

* Class will be held rain or shine - reimbursements are not provided due to weather conditions. This workshop includes outdoor elements, so please come prepared. Bring what you need to feel comfortable, i.e. water, good shoes for walking or standing, sunscreen, raincoat, etc.

** Advance registration appreciated (as some of our classes do fill to capacity), but generally not required - if you have trouble reserving your spot online, day-of registration is allowed and encouraged.
