DNR Healthy Watersheds, Healthy Communities Workshop

The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) invites you to a free workshop on maintaining healthy watersheds in your community.

The quality of our lives depends to a great degree on the availability of drinkable, fishable, swimmable water. What is often not understood is that local land use and development decisions can dramatically impact both water quality & availability and, therefore, impact community and economic vitality. DNR, in partnership with GTS Educational Services, is offering an interactive workshop to learn basic information that local governments should know about what contributes to "healthy" communities and watersheds. Highlighted is a new tool developed by DNR called the Watershed Assessment Tool (WAT). Local speakers will share examples of how watershed thinking has positively affected local land use decisions.
